Google Adsense

Today I’ve signed up for the Google Adsense program. Google Adsense is a program that allows publishers in the Google Network of content sites to serve automatic text, image, video, or interactive media advertisements that are targeted to site content and audience. These advertisements can generate money on a per click or per impression basis. The program should make it really easy to convert some of your traffic into real money. All you basically need is a website, the more traffic to that website the better, preferably a website with some built in Adsense functionality and of course an Adsense account.

You can sign up for Google Adsense here and if you are looking for a great WordPress theme with built in Adsense functionality check out the themes from my friends at mythemeshop.com. Their themes will get you up and running in no-time.

After you’ve completed the sign up process with Google they apparently need a few days before you can start implementing some ads on your site. Currently I’m waiting for authorization and when it’s done I will start implementing some right here. I am eager to play around with the program.

Of course in order to really make some money you would need to have a lot of visitors to your website, but if you have a website why not go ahead and implement and have a go at it?

UPDATE: I got approved on the 9th of April. It took Google about a week, just as they mentioned.
